One thing I have learned having been a Personal Trainer is that every single person is different physically as well as with what motivates them. Before I begin with you, and each new client, you all get Your Personal BodSpir® Program™: a series of conversations and movements which helps me learn everything I need to know to help you with your current and future aging issues. It is a must for getting on the path to energetic aging.
Creating a fitness program involves open communication between the trainer and you, the client. In order to set up the perfect program there are several details that a trainer needs. We begin with a conversation. Through this discussion, we talk about your health history, the many facets of your ideas about fitness, your goals and your ideals, your physical issues, history of injury. How can fitness be incorporated into your life? What do you think fitness can offer you? A consultation is a learning experience for both the client and the trainer. Great discoveries are learned through this process. It is the all-important first step in getting you on the road to fitness.
Some Topics We Discuss Are:
Making an assessment of where you are today is the evaluation tool used to initiate your training. Certain standards in the industry have been set up with guidelines and tables to help assess where you are and, based on our initial consultation, where you will be going. I then take what is learned during the assessment, and suggest certain exercises and/or stretches as your recommendation to help alleviate any potential progression of discovered problem areas.
The assessment can include:
Upon completion of your Consultation and Assessment, all information is carefully compiled and reviewed to determine where your problem areas are. Your history of injuries comes into play to establish the duration of certain issues and their potential long-term effects. A realistic program is compiled during this evaluation that will help relieve some current problems as well as offset future difficulties. The goal of the evaluation is to compile all relevant information in deciding the best recommendations for you to begin your at-home program.
Once a Consultation and Assessment are completed, an evaluation is made and recommendations are compiled into a day-to-day plan. These recommendations are designed to enhance your flexibility, improve your posture, offset any pain issues or joint problems, improve your gait, and give you overall physical benefits. The daily exercises suggested are sometimes broken down over 2 or 3 days and a program rotation is advised. With all programs, an aerobic component and strengthening exercises are always advised.
“I have been attending classes for over a year now and although I have always been an avid exerciser, BodSpir has targeted muscles I normally didn’t work out. I feel stronger and more balanced than I ever have been. The continued weight bearing exercises along with the stretching is extremely beneficial.”

If you are self-motivated and able to workout on your own at home, then after the Consultation, Assessment, Evaluation and Recommendation, we work on creating a workout program for you. Specific exercises are selected and compiled to give you a full body workout designed especially for you. After two weeks, we meet again to review everything and make sure your form is correct. Two months later, it is time to design another program. (Strength training exercises should be changed every 2 months to alleviate any boredom that may set in physically and/or mentally.) After that, you may simply flip-flop the two programs every 2 months. Or, we can design another new program.
